Sunday, must be Paris

---------------- What a delightful city! Everything is wonderful except the prices. Un coca (a Coke) for $3? A bargain, after spending two weeks in the south of France.

This morning (Sunday the 23rd) I had a few hours to kill before catching a train to Germany. So I hopped on the metro, and emerged at the Arc de Triomphe (pictured above.)

From there, it was a lovely walk to the Eiffel Tower which is truly not-to-be-missed. 35 FF (about $7) will take you to the second observation platform, but it's worth an extra 20FF and ten minute wait to go all the way to the top.

The view is spectacular!

At the bottom, there's a lovely park, with a beautiful, quiet little pond just a few feet away from the east pillar. I recommend spending a few mintues there, just contemplating what it would take to build something like that.

When you're done, pick your jaw up, hop the metro down to St. Michel, and grab a banana and nutella crepe. ----------------
